Each one of us is born, brought-up & nurtured in differently. Each family is different, and so is the way of our life. Beyond family we make many other relationships & among-st all of them, friendship is definitely a special one. Friends made in childhood stay forever & the beautiful memories made with them are the sweetest of all. These friends are both companions & guide. Unknowingly you might end up learning a lot by just being with them. Here I am sharing my friendship story with dolly - my cute dog & rani - my little turtle.
Meet Kiasha & her pet buddies - Leia & Tin Tin
Since the time I started recognizing my family members, I found a black furry thing roaming around me. At first I didn't understand who is she.. what is she doing here... why is she coming to me... but as I grew up, I started to know her better. She was dolly - our shiny black dog. Ah! she was adorable. I loved her, & could see same emotion in her eyes as well. We used to play together, watch TV, sit in the garden & spend time - such lovely days. She stayed with us for quite a long time. Today we don't have a pet at home but whenever I see a dog near by just feel like going closer to him & pat with compassion. Feed them as & when possible. Just feel happy to see them. Apart from dolly, my childhood diary has many more such friends - rani the turtle, often visits by cats, humming bird & Tipu our other dog. About rani, she was a cutie pie. She used to play hide & seek with us : ) This sleepy head will go under the bed, sneak behind sofa or just go to garden for chilling in wet soil. And we will be busy searching her entire day. I miss them a lot. They are only in my memories & some pictures in old album. But the gesture of give & take of love will always stay with me. It made me more kind & compassionate. Having pets doesn't alienate you from humans, rather help build a better connect with everyone around you.
Having a doggie, catty or a birdie as a friend develops sensitivity & empathy in child. It helps them in becoming more open to affection & connect well with world beyond technology. These days kids are becoming early age tech geeks & passionate about things that run on internet & electricity. The sheer joy of imitating a frog & jumping into a puddle seems to be lost somewhere. I understand every family or a house may not be pet friendly - that is completely alright. You may not make them pets at home but at least make your child observe the bird that visits your window sometimes or take care of a dog in the colony or just make your child feel comfortable in presence of someone else's pet. See, here the important thing is to admire other animals, creatures & nature.
These are little things that leave a strong impression in fragile mind of a child. It triggers the emotion of selfless love & ability to communicate without speech or words. It's a beautiful experience in itself.
